Telangana State Government has announced a holiday for tomorrow, September 25, 2026, for all government offices, schools and colleges. The holiday is applicable for institutions in and around the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad and the adjoining Ranga Reddy and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts. The holiday has been announced as part of the Ganesh Idol immersion procession scheduled to be held in the region.
The notification, however, states that November 14, 2026 (Second Saturday) will be a working day for the offices, schools and colleges closed tomorrow.
The holiday has been announced for the smooth conduct of the Ganesh idol immersion procession. With offices, schools and colleges closed, it will help with traffic congestion in the cities and also help with the influx of a large number of devotees who will participate in the procession.

As per media reports, storm-like conditions have been reported in Burgampadu of Bhadradri Kothagudem region in Telangana. The IMD has warned of very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in parts of northern and eastern Telangana for today and tomorrow.
The alert issued for today includes Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu and Bhadradri Kothagudem regions. An alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall has also been issued for Adilabad, Jagtial, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Warangal and Hanamkonda regions.
Ganesh Visarjan Holiday in Other States
Anant Chaturdashi / Ganesh Visarjan is observed as a public, government, and bank holiday in states where celebrations are done on a major scale. Schools, colleges, offices, government offices and other institutions will remain closed in states like Maharashtra, Goa, and parts of Gujarat and Karnataka. Schools and colleges along with other institutions, are closed tomorrow, considering the large amount of crowd expected to gather for the immersion or Ganesh Visarjan. Water banks will be crowded owing to the immersion while the idols will be brought in a large procession.
