IBPS PO Prelims 2018: Check Time Management Tips

Time management and order of attempts, both will play a significant role in IBPS PO Prelims Result 2018. Candidates who are going to appear for IBPS PO Prelims 2018 should have a clear idea about both the things while attempting the computer-based online exam. In this article, you will learn some essential tips related to time management and order of attempts for IBPS PO Prelims 2018. But before that, we will learn the latest exam pattern of IBPS PO Prelims 2018.

As per the latest notification, IBPS PO Prelims 2018 will be a one-hour exam. Question from three sections will be asked in the exam and candidates will get 20 minutes to attempt each section. More details about each section are given below

There will be a penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate; there will be no penalty for that question.

To qualify for IBPS PO Mains 2018, candidates need to clear section as well as an overall cut-off of IBPS PO Prelims 2018.

Based on difficulty level, candidates will get three types of questions in each section of IBPS PO Prelims 2018, and they are

I. Easy

II. Average

III. Difficult

In every section, candidates should first attempt easy questions followed by average level questions.  If they still have time, then they can try attempting difficult questions otherwise don't touch them.  Don’t try to attempt all the questions in the computer based online test.

Now, let's learn what should be the order of attempts to solve maximum questions with accuracy.

1. English Language

This is one of the most scoring sections of IBPS PO Prelims 2018. In this section first we should attempt the questions which can be solved with 100% accuracy.

It means, first we should solve questions based on Error Spotting, Cloze Test, Fillers & Reading and Antonyms & Synonyms of Reading Comprehension.

Afterwards, we can try solving questions of Reading Comprehension and other questions of this section.

2. Quantitative Aptitude

In this section, first we should solve questions related to Simplification, Approximation, Quadratic Equations & afterwards questions of Data Interpretations. One should solve Miscellaneous Word Problems in the end. In Miscellaneous Word Problems, one should first attempt questions with short and simple language. We should try long and twisted questions in the end.

3. Reasoning Ability

Questions related to Inequalities, Syllogism, Coding-Decoding, Blood Relation, Direction & Distance should be solved in the beginning. Afterwards one can try attempting questions from Puzzles and Seating Arrangement. In Puzzles and Seating Arrangement, choose the one which is short and easy to understand.
