CAT Exam Day Instructions 2021: Common Entrance Exam (CAT) will be conducted on 28th November 2021 and it is normal for any candidate appearing for an entrance exam to feel anxious or nervous a few days before the exam. These heightened stress levels often lead to a drop in the candidate's confidence which in turn affects their performance in the exam. As a result on the CAT exam day, candidates tend to lose marks. Candidates must stay calm on exam day and know what is to be done and what is not. 

Thus, to help ease some of the last-minute stress and anxiety experienced by the CAT aspirants we have compiled a list of CAT exam day guidelines 2021. CAT Exam Day Instructions 2021 - COVID-19 Guidelines

As the number of COVID-19 cases has been decreasing, this year too the CAT exam will be conducted in offline mode. The MBA CAT 2021 exam will be conducted as per the COVID-19 guidelines and rules, several safety measures will be followed at every test centre. 

Candidates are required to carry their face masks, hand gloves, 2 pens, and a personal water bottle. These are essential amenities without which entry to the test centre is prohibited. Candidates are also advised to follow the social distancing norms at the CAT test centres to avoid physical contact. Check below some other important CAT 2021 exam day guidelines below: 

  • The body temperature of candidates will be checked at the entry of the test venue.
  • Candidates must maintain physical distance starting from point of entry at the test centre till they leave the premises.
  • Candidates having symptoms of fever, cough, and cold would be made to sit in a separate room with adequate safety measures.
  • At the registration desk, the candidate will be directed to sanitize their hands using the sanitizer. Also, photographs will be captured during the registration process.
  • Candidates are required to follow directions given by the CAT test centre representatives during the entry and exit of the test centre. 

CAT Exam Day Instructions 2021 - Documents To Carry 

The first and foremost thing that candidates must keep in their mind on the day of the CAT examination is that they must have all the necessary documents in place. The first document that they need is their CAT 2021 admit card. They must have a printed copy of their admit card to present at the examination centre. Also, do not forget to attach the recent passport sized photograph in the space allotted on the admit card. 

Other documents they will need is a photo id proof. The candidate's admit card and a photo id proof, two are the only documents that they will need on the CAT examination day. Candidate must carry any one of the original and valid photo identification proof issued by the government such as:

  • PAN Card
  • Aadhaar Card
  • Driving License
  • Voter ID
  • Passport
  • Identification Affidavit along with the admit card

Therefore make sure candidates carry it along with them. Candidates will not be allowed entry in case they fail to produce either of the two documents. They must ensure that signature and photograph printed on the admit card is clear. Also, candidates who have pacemakers or implants (metal) or other devices for medical reasons are required to produce a medical certificate for the same. 

CAT Exam Day Instructions 2021 - Reaching Exam Centre on Time 

Candidates taking the exam must know the timings for the CAT exam so that they do not miss anything. This is the foremost CAT 2021 exam day tip. Due to COVID-19, candidates will have to follow certain CAT exam day instructions and so they are expected to reach the test centre on or before time so that the authorities have adequate time to check their documents as well as the temperature. Candidates must reach the test centre at least 30 minutes before the gate closure time. This year, the exam will be conducted in three shifts - 7 am, 11 am and 3 pm.  

CAT Exam Day Instructions 2021 - Dress Code 

As per the CAT exam dress code, candidates appearing for the exam can wear socks, plain pullovers, or sweaters/cardigans without pockets. Shoes or other footwear with thick soles and garments with large buttons are not allowed inside the exam centre. Those with a metal implant, pacemaker in their body will have to carry a supporting medical certificate at the exam centre. 

According to the CAT 2021 dress code, candidates can wear any type of dress that has no pockets attached. They must avoid wearing earrings, nose pins, necklaces, anklets, bangles or any other metallic ornaments. Any type of unnatural marks, Mehandi or tattoo on the body of the candidates would lead to their disqualification of taking the exams. 

CAT Exam Day Instructions 2021 - Self Declaration Form

This is also one of the important CAT exam day tips regarding the self-declaration form. Self Declaration (Undertaking) form regarding COVID-19, has to be filled in by all candidates and presented to the authorities upon reaching the exam centre. The self-declaration form is made pre-available with the CAT admit card. 

Some Other CAT Exam Rules and Regulations 

  • Candidates are advised to visit the CAT 2021 test centre at least one day in advance by following the google map link which is embedded in the admit card. 
  • They must carry two printed copies of the CAT 2021 admit card on an A4 size sheet. 
  • Any request to change the CAT 2021 exam centre will not be entertained. 
  • Writing pad for rough work and pen will be given to the candidates at the exam centre and they will have to return it before leaving the examination hall. 
  • Friends, guardians and relatives will not be allowed to enter the examination centre.
