Who Can Apply for JEE Advanced 2025?
Candidates fulfilling the following five criteria will be eligible for JEE Advanced 2025:
1. Performance in JEE Main 2025
- Candidates must be among the top 2,50,000 successful candidates (across all categories) in the B.E./B.Tech. Paper (Paper 1) of JEE Main 2025.
2. Age Limit
- Candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 2000.
- SC, ST, and PwD candidates get 5 years age relaxation (born on or after October 1, 1995).
3. Number of Attempts
- A candidate can attempt JEE Advanced a maximum of two times in two consecutive years.
4. Appearance in Class XII (or Equivalent)
- Candidates must have appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) exam for the first time in either 2024 or 2025 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
- Candidates who appeared in 2023 or earlier are not eligible, except:
- If their Board declared the 2022–23 results on or after June 28, 2023, they are eligible (provided all other criteria are fulfilled).
- If the result was declared before June 28, 2023, and the candidate’s result was withheld, they are not eligible.
5. Earlier Admission at IITs
- Candidates must not have been admitted to an IIT (as per JoSAA 2024 rules), regardless of whether they joined or withdrew.
- Those whose admission was cancelled after joining any IIT are also not eligible.
- However, candidates who were admitted to a preparatory course at an IIT for the first time in 2024 can appear for JEE Advanced 2025.
