In an exciting merger of education and service, Sardar Bhagwan Singh University (SBSU) organized a dual event which celebrated its exemplary commitment in working towards academic excellence and community welfare. This celebration had some interesting events including an educational tour for students, free physiotherapy health as the key highlights. This event was organized in collaboration with Hans Foundation Hospitals at Haridwar and Satpuli, Uttarakhand.
20 students from the Department of Medical Microbiology and Medical Laboratory Technology and the Department of Physiotherapy were taken to Hans Foundation Hospital, Haridwar for an educational visit. The students visited different clinical departments of the Hans Foundation hospital including the Emergency wing, Multi-Specialty Ward, Audiometry Section, Pathology department, Physiotherapy Department, Orthopaedic section and Ophthalmology (Eye Care) wing under the guidance of Mr. Ankit, Head Nurse at the Hans Foundation hospital.
This hospital visit helped students understand about the functioning of a healthcare setup and also provided a hand-on exposure to the real-time clinical operations that would help them build a deeper understanding which will help them in their future endeavours.
Earlier, Sardar Bhagwan Singh University (SBSU) also conducted 2 free physiotherapy camps in collaboration with Hans Hospital, Satpuli in which 12 students from the Physiotherapy and MLT departments volunteered to make the event a success. These free camps provided personalized healthcare services to 600+ patients that came for different conditions including neurological, orthopaedic and sports-related. The camps were supervised by the eminent faculty members of SBSU namely Dr. R. Arun Mozi, Dr. Shiv Upadhyay, Dr. Mohit Bhatt, and Dr. Akansha. Each patient was given compassionate care and left with satisfactory remarks.
Shri S.P. Singh, Chairman of the Gaurav Bharati Shiksha Sansthan—the governing body of SBSU praised this exemplary initiative quoting, “It brings us immense joy to welcome young learners into the healthcare field and, at the same time, serve our community through this health outreach. SBSU remains deeply committed to fostering education and promoting social responsibility. Today’s initiative reflects our collective ethos of growing together—as learners, caregivers, and responsible citizens.”
Speaking about the success of the event, Prof. (Dr.) Gauravdeep Singh, President, SBSU said, “This is a proud moment for SBSU as we continue to serve as both a hub of academic learning and a pillar of community support. The students’ visit brought energy and enthusiasm, while the health camp reinforced our shared duty to promote well-being in society.”
