Jharkhand High Court: The Jharkhand High Court rejected the plea of the state government for an extension period of four weeks for filing its defense in connection with the petitions relating to the cancellation of recruitments made in connection with the 11th to 13th JPSC Combined Civil Services Examinations, as well as CDPO and FSO positions. It was pointed out by Justice Deepak Roshan of the Single Judge Bench that the administration must file its counter affidavit strictly by September 18, 2026, and this shall be the date of the next hearing. It is noteworthy that the decision is related to the court’s ruling on August 20, 2026, on the stay order against the execution of the state's notifications canceling these recruitments.
As a result, the appointed persons have been granted the right to continue to serve in their respective positions until the case is sub-judice. However, it should be noted that the interim measure is a condition. The bench specifically said that the candidates found to have secured appointments through fraud and foul play during the process of investigation would immediately face consequences, including termination of service.
