The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur will begin the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) 2027 registration tomorrow, September 12, 2026. Aspirants aiming to secure admission into top IIT colleges for master’s, joint master's and PhD programmes will be able to apply for the test on the official website jam.iitkgp.ac.in. According to the official notice, the examination will be held on February 14 in two shifts - 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
To apply for the entrance test, candidates need to click on the “Application portal,” available on the website jam.iitkgp.ac.in. They need to submit the required documents including academic marksheets and pay the application fee as per the number of papers applied for. Students can apply for up to two test papers out of the seven available.
Documents Required For IIT JAM 2027 Registration
While applying for the IIT JAM 2027 test, students will need to submit the following documents:
- Class 10 Marksheet or Certificate
- Passport-Size Photograph
- Scanned Signature
- Valid Photo ID Proof
- Educational Qualification Details

The application fee varies for candidates based on the number of papers they are appearing for and their category.

IIT JAM 2027 Exam Date
The IIT Kharagpur has scheduled the IIT JAM 2027 examination for February 14, 2027. The forenoon session - 9:30 am to 12:30 pm will conduct examinations for Chemistry (CY), Geology (GG) and Mathematics (MA) papers, while the afternoon session - 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm will hold the test for Biotechnology (BT), Economics (EN), Mathematical Statistics (MS) and Physics (PH) papers.
IIT JAM is conducted for admission into programmes such as M.Sc., M.Sc. (Tech), MS (Research), M.Sc.-M.Tech. Dual Degree, Joint M.Sc.- Ph.D., M.Sc. - Ph.D. Dual Degree and Integrated Ph.D. in various institutes like Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
