XAT - The GK section in Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) exam is crucial for the candidates to prepare as it holds maximum scope to pull the percentile in the exam. XAT Exam Pattern: Key changes that you must know
The above table clearly shows that the XAT paper has had a constituent number of questions in the GK section for the past couple of years. This year, certain changes were made in the XAT exam pattern the prominent one being the omission of the essay question from the exam. Also, the exam conducting body has confirmed beforehand the number of questions that will be asked in each section.
Usually, in the GK section, questions from both static gk and current affairs section are asked. The given below table provides a snapshot of the type of questions that were asked in the exam from the test-takers.

As per the analysis provided above, it can be clearly seen that maximum questions in the XAT GK section are asked from the static GK. Hence, aspirants should focus more on learning the facts related to static GK topics. If they wish to score higher then pick up the GK book of their choice which can help them grasp the topics of static GK. But, as the case shows, there was equal number of questions from both static and current GK sections in the year 2013. Hence, candidates are advised to stay updated with regards to the current events as well and revise the questions from the current affairs section as well.
The analysis mentioned above focuses on the overall picture of the XAT GK section, but moving forward with the analysis, we should also focus on understanding which sections are most sought after in the XAT GK section.
