UPSC CSE Prelims 2026: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2026 result on its official website, upsc.gov.in. The Prelims result has been released in the pdf format containing the roll number of shortlisted candidates. The UPSC had conducted the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2026 on 24 May 2026 across 2,072 exam venues in 83 cities across the country. All those candidates who appeared in the prelims exam can download the result PDF containing the roll numbers of candidates who have qualified for the next stage.
The shortlisted candidates will be called to attempt the UPSC Mains examination, which is scheduled to commence from 21 August 2026 onwards.
The candidates may obtain any information/clarification regarding their issue(s) (if any) in respect of the above mentioned Examination on Tel. No. 011- 40303444/24041001 of the Commission’s Call Centre from 09:00 AM to 08:00 PM.

13,343 Candidates Qualify UPSC CSE Mains 2026
A total of 1,016 vacancies have been announced by the UPSC for Civil Services Examination 2026. As per the result announced on June 15, the UPSC has shortlisted 13,343 candidates for the next stage which is mains exam round. Candidates will have to appear in the mains exam round which will be a subjective type and only those who will qualify in mains will be called for the interview round.

As per the notification released, last year, a total of 14,161 candidates were shortlisted for the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2025 against 1087 vacancies notified for the Civil Services Examination, 2025. This year, against 1016 vacancies notified for the Civil Services Examination, 2026, a total of 13,343 candidates have been shortlisted for the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2026.

Candidates should note that the Commission will upload the Marks, Cut-Off Marks and Answer Keys of CS (P) Examination, 2026 on the Commission’s website i.e. https://upsc.gov.in only after the entire process of the Civil Services Examination, 2026 and Indian Forest Service Examination, 2026 is over i.e. after the declaration of final result.Candidates will be able to download the Marks and cut off marks once it is uploaded on the official website of UPSC.
