UPSC CSE Final Result 2024 Analysis: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) declared the result of the Civil Service Examination (CSE) on April 16, 2024, in which 1016 candidates were declared successful from different categories and also released the category of 240 candidates that were on the reserved list of the UPSC.
As per the UPSC result pdf, approximately 34% of the candidates were from the general category, which is further followed by 30% of the candidates belonging to the OBC category. The selected candidates will be appointed as Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service; and Central Services of Groups ‘A’ and ‘B’. The result was released based on the result of the written part of Civil Services Examination, 2023 held by the UPSC in September, 2023 and the interviews for Personality Test held in January-April, 2024,

UPSC Result 2024: A total of 34% General Category Selected in the Final List
The UPSC CSE 2024 results show a wide range of successful students from many backgrounds and communities. There were 347 successful candidates in the general category, which represents approximately 34.15% of all candidates who were selected. This category includes candidates who do not receive any reservation advantages and are selected entirely based on merit and performance in the UPSC examination. The large number of selections from the general category shows the examination's competitiveness and high standards.

The Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category had 115 candidate selections, which represented 11.32% of all successful candidates. The Other Backward Classes (OBC) category had 303 successful candidates, comprising 29.82% of the total selected candidates.
165 candidates were selected from the Scheduled Castes (SC) category, making up 16.24% of all successful candidates. Similarly, 86 candidates from the Scheduled Tribes (ST) category were picked, representing 8.46% of the total number of successful candidates. ST applicants frequently face unique obstacles and their performance in the UPSC examination shows their ability for administration positions.
