Medical College: Rank Movement Analysis
The analysis of rank movement during counseling rounds reveals a stark contrast when comparing the general category with reserved categories. While the general, OBC, and EWS categories enjoyed almost uninterrupted relaxation as the counseling process continued (particularly that of EWS, which rose by 3,365 ranks from 5,315 in Round 1 to 8,680 in Round 3), the ST category behaved in a completely opposite manner, since it followed a trend of continuous tightening and its cutoff declined by 1,933 ranks from 51,123 to 49,190. The existence of such divergence demonstrates the influence of vacancies available in different categories along a rank list, as well as the movement of candidates, thus leading to changes in cutoffs during the last rounds of counseling.
