Police SI Appointment Letter: The Allahabad High Court has issued a temporary stay on the distribution of the appointment letters for the Uttar Pradesh Sub-Inspector (SI) Recruitment 2025. A single-judge bench, which comprised Justice Anees Kumar Gupta, has passed the order while hearing the petitions that were filed by affected candidates. The court, while listening to the candidates’ demands, has posted the matter for its next detailed hearing, which is to be conducted on October 5, 2026.
Why Has the High Court Stayed the Appointment Process?
The Allahabad High Court’s stay order comes as a major setback to the selected candidates who were awaiting the formal distribution of the appointment letters. The important aspects of this legal dispute include:-
- Objection Over Revised Answer Keys:- Petitions were filed by many candidates, and they have alleged that the changes made to questions and answer keys after the examination have had a severe effect on their final normalised marks.
- Ignored Aspirant Representations:- Petitioners have also argued that the UPPRPB failed to properly evaluate and address valid candidate objections before declaring the final merit list on July 14, 2026.
- Legal Arguments:- Senior advocates who represented the petitioners convinced the court that issuing appointment letters before resolving answer key discrepancies could lead to irreparable procedural mistakes.
