Delhi-NCR School Holidays: The Commission of Air Quality Management (CAQM) has allowed schools in Delhi-NCR to follow a hybrid mode of classes. The order was issued hours after the Supreme Court asked the air quality panel to decide on resuming physical classes in schools. The panel has relaxed certain restrictions under GRAP - 3 and GRAP - 4.
According to a statement issued by the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM), most primary schools in Delhi and NCR regions lack the resources to conduct classes entirely online. The CAQM further added that students from classes 10 and 12 are hit the hardest by the GRAP-4 restrictions as they are required to attend physical classes for practicals, tests and extra tutorials required for the board exams.
According to reports, the panel has directed school authorities in NCR regions to ensure that all classes until class 12, colleges and other educational institutions conduct classes in the hybrid mode where ever feasible. The option to conduct an online mode of education where ever available will remain with the students and their guardians.
As per an official notification issued clause 11 of GRAP -3, clause 5 of GRAP 4 and clause 8 of GRAP 4 are relaxed to the extent that the state governments in NCR and GNTCD must ensure that all classes up to class 12 in schools and colleges/ educational institutions are conducted in hybrid mode where ever online mode is feasible in the territorial jurisdiction of NCT of Delhi and in the districts of Gurugram, Faridabad, Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddha Magar in NCR. The option to exercise online education wherever available will depend on the students and their guardians.
