The Indian government is helping specially-abled students of class 9 and 10 to have hassle-free education by not giving in to their different physical abilities. The intent of this scheme is to minimalize the dropout rate of the students by not giving in to financial duress.
The last date to submit applications is September 30, 2017. To check the eligibility and application procedures follow the proceedings:
- The candidate must be a regular student of class 9 or 10 in any school recognized by the government or by central or state board of secondary education.
- The family income must not exceed INR 2 Lakh p.a. from all sources.
- The eligible and selected scholar will be awarded varying scholarships to day scholars and hostellers. For a period of 10 months, day scholar will be granted INR 350 and hostellers will be awarded INR 600.
- Book an ad hoc grant for both day scholars and hostellers is INR 1000 and other allowances of INR 160 and INR 240 each for reader allowance for blind students, monthly transport allowance to them within campus premises, monthly escort allowance for severely disabled, monthly helper allowance to severely orthopedically disabled students and monthly coaching allowance to mentally retarded and mentally ill students.
The application is accepted online only.
Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India ensures timely disbursement of Scholarships to students by providing a common portal for various scholarship schemes of Central and State Governments to create a transparent database of scholars.
