The railway zones have announced a list of more than 100 special services for the festive period. The published list includes 102 train services with up and down services listed separately. These services cover routes across northern, eastern, western and southern India.

The festival special trains will operate on routes connecting several states. Major states and regions covered include Bihar, West Bengal, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Punjab and Delhi.

The additional services will provide more seats and berths for passengers travelling to their hometowns during the festive period as Railways has also added extra coaches to some existing trains to increase passenger capacity.

Several services will connect cities in Uttar Pradesh with destinations in other parts of the country. These services will operate on selected dates between September and December 2026. Important services include Kanpur Central to Asarva, Agra Cantt to Udhna, Asarva to Agra Cantt, Prayagraj to Udhna, Prayagraj to Sabarmati, Subedarganj to Valsad, Prayagraj to Dadar, Subedarganj to Udhna, Kanpur Central to Kolkata, Agra Cantt to Kolkata, Kanpur Central to Guwahati, Kanpur Central to SMVT Bengaluru, Kanpur Central to Madurai and Azamgarh to Bandra Terminus.

Several special trains have been planned between Bihar and West Bengal. Important routes include Howrah to Raxaul, Sealdah to Patna, Sealdah to Sitamarhi, Sealdah to Gorakhpur, Kolkata to Madhubani, Asansol to Patna, Asansol to Gorakhpur, Howrah to Lumding and Kolkata to New Jalpaiguri.

Special services will also connect Assam with other parts of the country. Some important routes include Howrah to Lumding, Lumding to Howrah, Kanpur Central to Guwahati, Guwahati to Kanpur Central, Santragachi to Naharlagun, Naharlagun to Santragachi, Dibrugarh to Kolkata and Kolkata to Dibrugarh.
