SSIS International Studies Course Aims to Create Leaders for Global Citizen

The process of globalization, particularly in the 21st century, has ushered in an unprecedented inter-connectivity of countries around the world through the movement of people, goods, capital, and through linkages of ideas and cultures. Contrary to popular belief, this global connectivity is not restricted to the realm of trade and economics alone, it encompasses and deeply influences the cultural, environmental, legal, political and social dimensions of societies all over the world, thus, bringing forth opportunities and challenges alike.
 
In order for the goals of human society to be realized, the involvement of academia is imperative. The SSIS aims to create leaders for global citizenship who, through their scholarship, will attempt to seek solutions to issues of contemporary challenges.
 
The discipline of International Studies (IS) positions itself at the cross-roads where the dominant cultural, economic, political and social issues that exercise an influence on the national, regional and international agenda converge.
 
The holistic nature of courses offered under the IS programme provide students with the lens to critically examine and understand contemporary issues based on a multi-disciplinary approach.
 
Students with a Masters in International Studies could look forward to gainful careers in international organizations, international non-governmental organizations, regional organizations, corporate houses, corporate foundations, media, think-tanks and academic institutions.
