Written Ability Test (WAT): Now-a-days, various b-schools (including IIMs) are testing the candidates through essay writing. The GD round has been replaced with this round because there were claims that some students overshadow the other candidates in GD round through their oratory skills. This practice does not allow a few participants to express their views on the issue being discussed. Hence, the essay writing (WAT) round has been introduced to judge the quality of writing, introspection of thoughts and views of a candidate on the allotted topic.

Personal Interview (PI): A candidates appears for this when they are able to clear the WAT/GD round. Hence, a few students make it to PI round. In this round, a candidate faces a panel of interviewers and they are asked several questions pertaining to their background, lifestyle and experience.
