Google has launched Fitbit Air in India, bringing a screenless fitness tracker to India’s wearable market. Priced at ₹13,999, the device goes on sale from October 2 and focuses on continuous health and fitness monitoring rather than notifications, apps or a conventional smartwatch display.

What is Fitbit Air?

Fitbit Air is a compact wearable designed to be worn throughout the day. Unlike a smartwatch, it has no screen and no physical buttons. Instead, health and activity information is viewed through the Google Health app on a smartphone.

Google says the tracker weighs 12 grams with its band and measures 8.3mm in thickness. It is rated for 5ATM water resistance and offers up to seven days of battery life. A five-minute fast charge can provide enough power for a full day, according to Google.

Fitbit Air Offerings: Health and fitness tracking

The Fitbit Air provides 24/7 heart-rate monitoring, sleep tracking and blood-oxygen, or SpO2, monitoring. It also tracks heart-rate variability, resting heart rate and skin temperature, while supporting heart-rhythm notifications for possible atrial fibrillation.

For fitness users, the wearable can automatically detect workouts and provide activity summaries through the Google Health app. It is designed for overnight use, allowing sleep tracking without a conventional smartwatch.

Google Health Coach Integration

A major part of Fitbit Air’s pitch is its integration with Google’s updated health ecosystem. Google Health Coach uses artificial intelligence, including Gemini-powered capabilities, to turn collected health and activity data into personalised guidance.

Users can receive recommendations related to fitness, sleep and health habits. Some advanced coaching features require a Google Health Premium subscription. Buyers in India receive a three-month trial of the service with the device.

Fitbit Air in India: Price, colours and bands

Fitbit Air is priced at ₹13,999 in India and is available in Obsidian, Berry, Lavender and Fog. It comes with a Performance Loop band; Active and Elevated Modern options are also available.

It is being sold through the Google Store and retail partners after its international launch earlier in 2026.

Who are its rivals?

Fitbit Air enters a segment that includes screenless or subscription-based fitness trackers such as Whoop, alongside smartwatches and fitness bands from Apple, Samsung, Garmin, Noise and Amazfit.

Its key difference is the screen-free approach. Users who want notifications, maps or on-device apps would need a smartwatch instead, while Fitbit Air is aimed at people seeking passive health tracking with fewer digital distractions.
