The loss in academic work is getting highlighted by the Government Schools Teachers’ Association, GSTA mentioned in the notice Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood.
The letter shared by, Ajay Veer Yadav, GSTA general secretary, says that, “A substantial number of trained teachers have been deployed as BLOs and BLO supervisors for the SIR exercise. Consequently, the absence of thousands of teachers from schools is likely to adversely impact the education of lakhs of students. Such academic loss cannot be adequately compensated at a later stage.”
For school heads and principals managing the shortage of senior teachers is a little challenging, those who have been assigned for BLO duties. The school principal said “Even some class teachers have been assigned BLO duty. So, who will teach then? Some teachers have been given two registers, and they have to take care of multiple classes." As this is the situation we engage the students to go for sports or to sit in the library. Due to this it is difficult to manage the syllabus and to make students ready for mid term exams.
