
Indira Gandhi National Open University has revised the eligibility criteria for the Postgraduate Diploma programme in Journalism and Mass Communication. While earlier, the candidates applying for the programme were required to have two year’s work experience in order to apply for the programme the university has now removed the criteria. As per the new eligibility criteria, candidates can apply for the programme without any work experience. The recent revision in the eligibility criteria will be brought into immediate effect.
The Postgraduate Diploma programme in Journalism and Mass Communication provides candidates with an opportunity to become media personnel and enhance their knowledge in the field for their professional development.
The programme provides the students with the opportunity to work with journalists from the industry to increase their on-field knowledge and cater to the needs of the media industry and academics at the same time.
IGNOU offers the Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication for a minimum duration of 1 year but the programme can also be completed within a duration of 4 years. Candidates applying for the programme must have completed their bachelor's degree in any stream.
IGNOU started the application process for the July 2019 session and the last date to submit the application forms is September 30, 2019. Candidates who wish to apply for the programme can visit the official website of IGNOU to complete the registration and application process for the July 2019 session.
