Did you know that Uttar Pradesh is the state that produces the largest amount of mangoes in India? Mangoes are referred to as the ‘King of Fruits’ because of their rich flavor and taste. Uttar Pradesh is India's unchallenged mango leader, producing roughly 25-26% of India's total output, standing at more than 4.5 million metric tons annually.

Its reasons for popularity are the Gangetic plains, adaptable agro-climatic conditions, and the historic development of mangoes. Places like Malihabad, Saharanpur, and Lucknow are renowned for producing finer varieties like Dasheri, Langra, Chausa, and Safeda, which are renowned both within and outside India.

The extensive orchards of the state, with perfect monsoonal rains and fertile loamy soil, afford the perfect weather for mangoes, popularly referred to as the "king of fruits." Mangoes from Uttar Pradesh not only supply fresh produce but also feed a fertile industry for exports and processed products like pulp and pickles.
