MPSC Main Exam Postponed 2026: The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has officially postponed the State Service Main Examination 2026, which was originally scheduled to start on October 3, 2026. Along with the State Services exam, the Commission has also postponed two other major exams: Maharashtra Civil Engineering Services Main Exam 2026 and the Maharashtra Group B (Non-Gazetted) Main Exam 2026. Why Was the October 3 MPSC Exam Postponed?

According to the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC), the decision to postpone the major recruitment exam follows the continuous representations from the student organisations, candidates, parents, and public representatives:-

• State-wide Aspirant Demands:- Candidates have requested additional preparation time and have also requested the commission to address the ongoing exam evaluation concerns before proceeding with the Mains testing.
• High-Level Exam Reform Review:- The Maharashtra State government had constituted a high-powered committee, which was headed by the senior official V. Radha, to review the exam practices, evaluate the student feedback and recommend structural reforms. 
• Re-Evaluation of Previous Cycle:- The Commission has also taken note of the candidates’ grievances regarding the 2025 exam evaluation and has also decided to address the student representation and complete a systemic review before conducting the 2026 Mains exam.
