Ashrit Talluri, a 14-year-old Indian-origin student from Georgia, has achieved a perfect score of 1600 in the SAT while studying in Grade 9. Talluri, who attends Innovation Academy in Fulton County, appeared for the college admission test in June 2026.
The teenager prepared for the SAT for around five months after registering for the examination in January. His preparation included working with a tutor, using online learning resources and completing more than two dozen practice tests. He had already secured a 1600 in three practice attempts before appearing for the actual examination.
Talluri said he felt particularly nervous during the Reading and Writing section of the test but managed the pressure by staying calm.
Advanced Academic Journey
Talluri had already moved beyond the conventional school curriculum before taking the SAT. During middle school, he completed 14.5 high-school credits and participated in college-level summer programmes at Harvard and Rice universities.
He is currently pursuing two college-level courses through dual enrolment alongside his Grade 9 studies.
His interests extend beyond academics, with the student participating in activities including chess and hackathons and exploring areas such as artificial intelligence, computer science, medicine and aviation.
Helping Other Students Prepare For SAT
After achieving the perfect score, Talluri has continued working with the SAT. He spends some of his free time developing practice questions and exploring different test-taking strategies that could help other students.
He also holds a leadership role at The1550Formula, an AI-based SAT preparation platform.
Aspires To Become Neurosurgeon
Talluri has expressed an interest in pursuing medicine and aims to become a neurosurgeon. His academic interests include neuroscience, artificial intelligence and technology, reflecting his plans to combine these fields in his future studies.
His family has roots in Tenali in Andhra Pradesh’s Guntur district. His parents reportedly moved to the United States in 2008 and settled in Georgia.
Talluri’s perfect SAT score comes alongside an accelerated academic path that has included advanced coursework, college-level programmes and technology-related activities while still in his early years of high school.
