Ahead of the Cockroach Janata Party protests at Jantar Mantar today, October 10, 2026, the Ministry of Home Affairs has approved the temporary suspension of internet services. The Cockroach Janata Party is conducting a protest demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar
As per the order issued, internet services will remain suspended within a 4 Kilometre radius around the Janpath-Kartavya Path crossing. Services are suspended from 10 PM on October 9 to 10 PM on October 10, 2026. Instructions have also been issued to suspend all forms of mobile internet technology.
Along with internet services, the DMRC has also announced that entry and exit at 45 metro stations will remain closed from 9 PM on Friday, October 9, 20926 throughput October 10, 2026 until further notice. Interchange facilities will, however, continue at all affected stations except the New Delhi metro station.
In recent developments, it has been reported that train services to New Delhi, Nizamuddin Railway Station have been suspended from 4 AM to 2 PM today ahead of the CJP protest. Security in New Delhi has been tightened ahead of the CJP demonstration. Instructions have been issued to keep shops and offices closed in CP today. Many schools and colleges in Delhi will have online classes today.
