NEET SS Counselling 2025: The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) has released the schedule of the NEET SS Special Stray Vacancy Round on their official website at mcc.nic.in. This round of counselling has been made mandatory after a Supreme Court order as well as after a decision of the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) where they have decided to make changes in the cutoff percentage criteria for the qualification from 50th to 30th percentile.
These changes have been done to avoid the wastage of seats and to completely fill the 1,857 number of vacant super specialty seats available in Doctorate of Medicine (DM), Master of Chirurgiae (M.Ch) and Diplomate of National Board Super Speciality (DNB SS). According to the new schedule of the counseling process, the new windows of online registration and fee payment would be opened from September 25, 2026 to September 28, 2026. The choice filling and locking would be available till September 29, 2026, while seat processing and allotment would be made on September 30, 2026.

NEET SS Counselling 2025: Eligibility Criteria & Rules

Eligibility based on New Cut-off: Students who qualify the new cut-off 30th percentile in their respective question paper groups are eligible to take part.
Non-Eligibility Clause: Those students who are already a part of the seats allotted to them in the earlier rounds, Round 1 & Round 2, will not be able to upgrade themselves.
No Change in Ranks: Group-wise ranks that have been already announced will not change, and no new scorecards will be released.
