PSEB Seasonal Workers Policy 2026: The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has implemented the "Welfare of Seasonal Daily Wage Workers Policy-2026" with the issuance of service orders to 223 eligible seasonal daily wage workers who had applied using form-A for inclusion in the system. Launched by Dr. Amarpal Singh, chairman of PSEB, the landmark policy ensures employment till 58 years of age and provides much-needed job security and dignity to PSEB's seasonal workforce.
According to the new arrangement, the employees will get shifted from the system of partial wages that used to pay them for 12 to 18 days of work in a month to getting paid for one month based on applicable laws. The welfare scheme provides workers with social security cover, which would include Employees' State Insurance (ESI) and Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) along with 10 casual leaves per year, gazetted holidays of the government, and Saturdays and Sundays as paid holidays. Workers will be placed in either clerical or Group D positions according to their educational qualifications and allotted Employee Identification Numbers and identity cards.

Core Policy Provisions for Seasonal Workers

Shift from Partial to Full Monthly Salary: Earlier, getting paid for only 12-18 days' work in a month by the seasonal workers, they would now get a full month's salary by virtue of being covered under the board regulations, thus providing full financial stability.
Leave Scheme: The covered workers shall be provided with 10 days of casual leave per year along with the gazetted government holidays and weekend leaves (Saturday & Sunday).
Social Safety Net: All the eligible workers would be covered under the social scheme of the Employees' State Insurance (ESI) and Employees' Provident Fund (EPF).
Service Recognition & Service Posting: The covered workers shall be posted either as clerical or Group-D cadre based upon their educational qualifications. They would be assigned Employee ID Numbers and Board ID Cards to assimilate them within the normal administrative process.
