The Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) is set to introduce a two-exam system for Class 10 students from the 2026-27 academic session. Under the new system, students will get two opportunities to appear for the board examination in the same academic year, giving them a chance to improve their scores without waiting for the next year.
The decision was announced by Rajasthan School Education and Panchayati Raj Minister Madan Dilawar. The new examination pattern is aimed at reducing examination pressure and providing students with greater flexibility in improving their performance. The Rajasthan Board's official website is also currently carrying information related to the 2027 main examination.
RBSE Class 10 Board Exam Twice a Year
Under the revised system, the first RBSE Class 10 board examination will be compulsory for all students. Students who qualify in the first examination will be allowed to appear in the second examination to improve their marks in up to three subjects.
The first examination is expected to be conducted in February-March, while the second opportunity examination will be held in May-June of the same academic session. Both examinations will cover the complete syllabus.

Best of Two Attempts to Be Considered
One of the key features of the new RBSE examination system is the best-of-two policy. Students appearing for the second examination to improve their marks will have their better performance considered for the final result.
This means students who do not perform as expected in the first examination will have another opportunity to improve their marks in eligible subjects within the same academic year.
Who Can Appear for the Second RBSE Class 10 Exam?
Students who have qualified in the first board examination can appear for the second examination for improvement in up to three subjects.
Students who are placed in the supplementary category can also use the second examination opportunity in up to three subjects, including supplementary subjects. Students who remain absent from the first examination may also be permitted to appear in the second examination, subject to submitting a valid medical certificate or obtaining authorisation from the district education officer.
