IIT Gandhinagar PhD CDP 2026 Application Closes on September 28; Check Eligibility & Selection Process

IIT Gandhinagar PhD 2026: Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) will be completing its online registration for PhD Admissions 2026–27 (Semester II) and Continuing Doctoral Program (CDP) with the last date being September 28, 2026. Candidates who meet the criteria can fill out their application form on the official website iitgn.ac.in before the deadline time which is 5:00 PM. This admission cycle welcomes candidates from different streams of engineering, basic science, and humanities. 

For candidates falling under General, EWS, and OBC categories, the criteria is 55% marks or 5.5 CPI in their qualifying degree, whereas for SC, ST, and PwD candidates, it is 50% marks or 5.0 CPI. Continuing Doctoral Program (CDP) is especially designed for industrial professionals and R&D personnel so that they can conduct their advanced research work without staying much at the campus. Scholarships awarded to regular full-time scholars include an Institute Fellowship of ₹37,000 per month.

IIT Gandhinagar PhD CDP Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who apply at the institute level should have scored at least 55% marks or 5.5 CPI in their postgraduate degree course or four year bachelor's degree course in the respective field. In the case of candidates who belong to SC, ST, and PwD categories, the minimum criterion is 50% marks or 5.0 CPI.

The institute has specified that these are the minimum eligibility criteria for the institute level only. Candidates are also required to fulfill certain eligibility criteria for the department to which they want to apply. Thus, department-wise eligibility criteria should be known first.
