TN Schools Closed: The Tamil Nadu state government has announced a school holiday today, December 19, 2023, for the districts of Kanyakumari and Tenkasi. The school holiday has been announced due to heavy rainfall since yesterday. Students, teachers, and parents are advised to take note of the holiday announced.
Anna University has also postponed the exams in three districts in the state, the exams of Anna University-affiliated colleges have been postponed in the Nellai, Tenkasi, and Tuticorin districts. The exams have been postponed due to heavy rainfall in the districts. The revised dates for the postponed exams will be announced by the university officials soon.
According to the latest weather updates, Tamil Nadu has been experiencing heavy rains. According to local media reports, the Tenkasi and Kanyakumari district collectors have declared a holiday for schools. However, it must be noted that the holiday has been announced for only two districts and no updates regarding the other districts have been announced. In case there are waterlogging or electricity issues, students have been asked to contact the authorities for further details.
Schools in certain districts of Tamil Nasu were closed on December 18, 2023, as well due to heavy rainfall. The schools, colleges, and other educational institutions in districts like Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, and Tenkasi were closed yesterday due to heavy rainfall.
The weather reports suggest a cyclonic storm over the Comorin and neighbouring areas. A red alert has also been issued for the state as heavy rainfall is expected. Further reports regarding the schools and school holidays will be made by officials soon.
