The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has announced its candidate list for the University of Hyderabad (UoH) Student Union Elections 2026-27. The organisation will contest alongside the Sevalal Vidyarthi Dal (SLVD) in this year’s campus elections. The polling is scheduled to take place on September 28 from 9 am to 5 pm. The vote counting starts at 8:30 am on September 29.
The ABVP said its central panel represents “a diverse team representing different academic communities and student interests across Hyderabad Central University (HCU).”
For the four key central posts, Naresh P has been named the candidate for President, while Barsharani Behera will contest for Vice President. Venisa Choudhary has been announced for General Secretary and Sapthagiri for Joint Secretary. The remaining candidates announced by the organisation are contesting posts related to cultural activities, sports and the ICC-GSCASH.

University of Hyderabad Student Union Elections 2026: When Are Polls?
The University of Hyderabad Student Union Elections are scheduled to take place on September 28, 2026, with the results expected to be declared on September 29. The election process began with nominations on September 20, followed by scrutiny and withdrawal of candidature before the final contest took shape. According to reports, three major groupings are contesting this year’s elections, including the ABVP-SLVD combination.
ABVP’s Previous UoH Election Victory
The ABVP recorded a major victory in the University of Hyderabad Students’ Union Elections 2025. The organisation, contesting with the SLVD, won all six key positions, including President, Vice President, General Secretary, Joint Secretary, Cultural Secretary and Sports Secretary. The elections were held on September 19, 2025, with more than 81% polling reported.
The ABVP has also recently secured three of the four central posts in the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) Elections 2026. Its candidates won the President, Secretary and Joint Secretary positions, while independent candidate Deepanshu Shokeen won the Vice President post. ABVP’s Yash Dabas defeated NSUI’s Vijay Shankar Meena for President, while Riya Chhawdi and Lakshya Raj Singh won the Secretary and Joint Secretary posts, respectively.
The UoH election will therefore see the ABVP seek to retain the positions it won in 2025, with voting scheduled for September 28.
