CBSE Issues New Instructions for Student Demographic Details Correction; Warns Incomplete Requests Will Be Rejected
CBSE LOC verification: CBSE issued a circular mandating affiliated schools to strictly verify student demographic details across Classes 9 to 12. The Board warned that post-result correction requests with missing, uncertified, or illegible documents will be summarily rejected. Students must route all correction requests through their respective schools.
CBSE LOC verification: CBSE has released a formal notification to all schools affiliated with it on the issue of verification and corrections of the student demography such as candidate name, names of parents, date of birth and other official details of students maintained in the records of the board. According to the new guidelines provided by the Board, any request for correction, which is not comprehensive, without any certificate and attachments, or even legible copies would not be entertained by the board in case the request was made after the release of results.
Students, their parents and school administration have as many as 20 chances for verifying the details of students in Classes 9 to 12 in the forms of registration process, LOC submissions, registration cards and issuing of the admit card. Schools now need to maintain consistency in the details of students in the admission forms of school, scholar register and transfer certificates, besides obtaining written undertakings from the parents on each important academic point.

Verification Needed for School Prior to Exams
Schools have been asked to verify demographic details and to get confirmation from parents during Class 9 registration. The Registration Card is given to the student for the purpose of verifying the details sent to CBSE.
Board has set up similar norms for List of Candidates (LOC) submission for Class 10 and Class 12. In such case, too, schools have to verify the details and seek confirmation from parents. Students and parents have one more chance to verify errors during correction period.
As per CBSE norms, demographic details have to be verified once again at the time of issuance of admit card. Prior to the examinations, students, parents and the school principal are supposed to ensure that the details given in the admit card are correct.
According to the CBSE, requests for demographic correction keep coming even after announcement of results. It has pointed out incomplete applications, absence of required documents, unclear copies of records and non-provision of additional documents demanded during processing.
