According to media reports, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has allowed provisional registrations for the class 10 students for the CA Foundation Examinations.
The Institute received approval from the Government for changing the 25E, 25F, and 28F of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988 as per a proposal submitted by the ICAI for amending the regulations for the Chartered Accountants Regulations 1988 with respect to Change in entry Requirement after receiving various requests from stakeholders.
Candidates can apply after completing class 10
ICAI President CA. Atul Kumar Gupta while speaking to the media stated that the institute received the central government approval for amending the regulations of chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988 enabling the candidates provisionally register for the foundation Courses of ICAI after completing the class 10 board exams.
He further stated that the provisional registrations to the foundation courses will however be regularised once the candidates clear the class 12 board exams adding that the basic objective of the proposal was to allow the students to provisionally register for the Foundation courses after completing Class 10 which will help the students to prepare for the Foundation course while pursuing class 11 and 12 giving them ample of time to update their knowledge and acquire the required techniques to appear and qualify the CA foundation exams.
Free Online Classes
The ICAI offers free online classes for the students of the Foundation course which can be accessed by them any time. The ICAI president also pointed out that after appearing for the class 12 exam in February/March the students will be eligible to appear for the Foundation exams to be conducted in May/June.

With the new entry requirements, students will be able to provisionally register for the CA Foundation programme after completing class 10 giving them time to prepare for the programme. Students are required to complete the four-month study period while pursuing classes 11 and 12 and appear for the Foundation exams in May/June immediately after appearing for the class 12 exams.
