JEE Advanced 2026 LIVE: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee is holding the JEE Advanced 2026 today, Sunday, May 17, 2026. The computer-based test (CBT) will be held in two shifts: Paper 1 from 9 AM to 12 PM and Paper 2 from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Students who have registered for the exam will need to follow all the guidelines laid down by the institute to avoid any inconvenience in the exam conduct.

The exam will be held across 221 cities in India and 2 international centres. Students appearing for BTech, BS, BArch papers will need to arrive at the examination centre, following the proper guidelines, with their admit card and the necessary documents. The JEE Advanced 2026 admit card can be downloaded from the official website at jeeadv.ac.in using the registration number, date of birth, and mobile number as credentials.The admit cards were released on May 11, 2026. 

The exam is held for the top 2.5 lakh candidates in the JEE Main 2026 exam. The scores achieved in this examination will allow students to apply for India’s premier engineering institutes like the IITs, IISc, etc. 

JEE Advanced 2026 Exam Date and Time

IIT Roorkee is conducting the JEE Advanced 2026 today, May 17, 2026. Currently, the exam for paper 1 is being held, whereas the paper 2 will run from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. The question paper will be available in both English and Hindi. The Person with Disabilities (PwD) candidates will receive one hour of extra time.

    JEE Advanced 2026: What is Joint Seat Allocation (JoSAA)?

    The seats across IITs, NITs, IIITs and other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs) will be offered and allocated through a common process by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA), to be held in online mode for the current year. The candidates who secured a Rank in JEE (Advanced) 2026 are eligible to participate in the Joint Seat Allocation process for a seat at an IIT. All the candidates who are eligible for admission will have to participate in the joint seat allocation process by filling in their preferential choices of the courses and Institutes.

    The detailed instructions for filling-in the choices and the seat allotment procedure and the schedule of joint seat allocation will be made available by JoSAA 2026 through JoSAA Business Rules of 2026 soon. Additionally, the list of courses that will be offered by the IITs for admission for the academic year 2026-27 will be made available at the time of online filling-in of choices.
