Students at a government school in Jaisalmer protested by locking the school gates, alleging that a shortage of teachers has left their syllabus incomplete ahead of examinations.

Students of the Government Upper Primary School in Kahla, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, staged a protest over the shortage of teachers and locked the school gates. The students demanded the appointment of teachers for key subjects, particularly Science and Mathematics, saying their studies have been affected due to the lack of teaching staff.

According to the students, the situation has disrupted regular classes and left them worried about their upcoming examinations. They also raised slogans including “Hamaari Shiksha Zaruri Hai” (Our education is important) during the protest.

Science, Maths Teachers Sent On Official Duty

According to media reports, students said their Science and Mathematics teachers were sent on official duty for 17 days. However, they claimed that the teachers have not returned even after nearly two months.

As a result, students said they have been unable to complete their syllabus. With examinations approaching, they expressed concern that they may not be adequately prepared and could face difficulties in the exams.

Parents Raise Concerns Over Students’ Education

Parents also expressed concern over the lack of teachers at the school. One parent told that there were no teachers available for Science and Mathematics and questioned how students could continue their studies without regular classroom teaching.

The parent said children are being sent to school to study, and warned that the continuing shortage could affect their academic future.

Students Demand Teachers Before Exams

The students have demanded that teachers for the affected subjects be appointed or brought back so that regular classes can resume and the pending syllabus can be completed.

The Jaisalmer school protest highlights the immediate concerns of students who say teacher shortages are affecting their classroom learning and exam preparation. The students are now seeking administrative action to address the shortage and ensure that their education is not disrupted further.
