Chief Minister Devendra Fatnavis gave a green pass to India’s first offshore airport in Palghar district of Maharasthra. He stated that a planned proposal presentation was brought to him by the Maharashtra Airport Development Cooperation. He was impressed with the vision and gave his approval to the plan.

India’s First Offshore Airport
India’s first offshore airport would be at a distance of 4.75 km from the Uttan-Virar sea link In future if the sea link is extended to the airport it would create an excellent network of connectivity between Mumbai airports and land transportation.
The major reason behind why India is building its first offshore airport can be the restraint of land area to overtake such large scale projects.
Mumbai is a coastal city which limits the scope of land available for building more infrastructures. Thus, India came up with the offshore airport project to create an airport without the constraints of area along with providing an excellent network with the sea links of Maharashtra.
