Uttar Pradesh School Holiday September 29

Uttar Pradesh continues to remain under scrutiny following intense rainfall during the last few days. A weather system over the state has resulted in heavy rainfall, while the IMD has indicated that the system would gradually weaken as it moves north-northwestwards. 

Bareilly schools were closed on September 28 from Nursery to Class 12 following directions from the district administration. The order covered UP Board, CBSE and ICSE schools. However, the September 28 order does not automatically extend to September 29. 

Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh School Holiday September 29

The weather remains unsettled over parts of the Himalayan region. The IMD has forecast rainfall in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, with isolated heavy rainfall possible in some areas. 

Schools are not automatically closed in the state because of an IMD alert. District authorities can, however, announce temporary closures if rainfall, landslides, waterlogging or road conditions create safety concerns.

Andhra Pradesh School Holiday September 29

Parts of Andhra Pradesh were also affected by the recent deep depression, with heavy rainfall and strong winds reported in several districts. Earlier school holidays were announced in districts including Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Parvathipuram Manyam, Visakhapatnam, Alluri Sitharama Raju and Anakapalle.

Delhi-NCR School Holiday September 29

There is no confirmed statewide or region-wide school holiday for Delhi-NCR on September 29 based on the latest available information. Schools are expected to follow their regular schedules unless the Delhi government, district administration or individual school issues a fresh closure notice.

Karnataka School Holiday September 29

Karnataka is also expected to experience rainfall and thunderstorms in parts of the state. The weather outlook indicates continued rain activity, particularly over interior Karnataka, while gusty winds are also possible in some areas. 

There is no confirmed statewide school holiday for September 29 based on the latest available updates. Students should follow notifications issued by their respective districts and schools.

Kerala School Holiday September 29

Kerala is likely to experience rainfall, thunderstorms and gusty winds during this period. The IMD has forecast gusty winds over Kerala and Mahe from September 29 to October 1. 

No statewide school closure has been confirmed for September 29. However, schools in areas facing severe local weather may receive separate instructions from district authorities.

Odisha School Holiday September 29

Odisha had witnessed school holidays in many districts during the recent heavy-rain spell associated with the Bay of Bengal weather system. Earlier, districts including Koraput, Malkangiri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Khurda, Nabarangpur, Puri and Jagatsinghpur had announced closures at different stages of the weather event. 

For September 29, however, there is no confirmed statewide school holiday in Odisha based on the latest available information. Students should check district-level orders, particularly in areas that continue to experience heavy rainfall or waterlogging.

Cyclone Arnab Update: Will Schools Remain Closed?

The weather system recently referred to in several reports as Cyclone Arnab was classified by the IMD as a deep depression rather than a cyclonic storm. It crossed the north Andhra Pradesh-south Odisha coast near Kalingapatnam and subsequently weakened after moving inland. 

The system nevertheless caused heavy rainfall and strong winds across parts of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. Several Odisha districts announced temporary school closures as a precautionary measure during the worst of the weather. 

As the system has weakened, students should not assume that schools will remain closed tomorrow solely because of the earlier Cyclone Arnab-related alerts. Any fresh closure will depend on current weather conditions and official district orders.

Bank Strike September 29: Will Banks Remain Closed?

The proposed three-day nationwide bank strike from September 28 to September 30, 2026, has been deferred after the United Forum of Bank Unions and the Indian Banks Association reached an understanding to form a high-level committee to discuss the unions' pending demands. Therefore, September 29 should not be treated as a confirmed nationwide bank strike day.
