This decision has been taken to avoid any assumed disruption that hits the customers. Finance Ministry and RBI have also asked all the PSU banks to stay operational on Sunday, September 27, 2026.
The Controller General of Accounts (CGA), under the Ministry of Finance's Department of Expenditure, issued an Office Memorandum on September 23, 2026, regarding the advance payment.

Who Will Get Salary On September 25 Ahead Of Bank Strike?
According to the government notice, the September 2026 salary, wages and pension of Central Government employees may be drawn and disbursed on Friday, September 25.

The government has also allowed the September wages of industrial employees of the Central Government to be disbursed in advance on September 25.
Will Everyone Get Salary On September 25 Ahead Of Bank Strike?
No, this is only an order for the Central Government employees and pensioners. The government memorandum applies specifically to Central Government employees, industrial employees of the Central Government and Central Government pensioners.
This order by the Finance Ministry is not a blanket government order. This does not require private sector companies, state government or other employees to process salaries on September 25. Everyone else's salary will depend on their employer and the payment cycle and arrangements.
