The Asian Games 2026 have concluded in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, with India witnessing some outstanding performances across different events. Despite a few heartbreaks, India managed to put up some extraordinary performances in the last couple of days to ensure a fourth-place finish with 85 medals.
A couple of sports dominated India's medal chart quite well, while several Indian athletes also secured multiple podium finishes during the tournament. In this article, we will explore India's medal tally across different sports as well as the top three Indian medal winners at the Asian Games 2026.
India Asian Games 2026 Medal Tally Across Different Sports
India finished at the fourth position in the final medal tally with 21 gold, 27 silver and 37 bronze medals, taking the overall tally to 85 medals. The tally, however, was lower than India's previous edition in Hangzhou, where the country won a record 107 medals.

Three Indian athletes finished the Asian Games 2026 with 3 medals each, making them the joint-highest individual Indian medal winners of the edition. Two of these athletes came from archery, while one represented India in shooting.

1. Kumkum Anil Mohod - 3 Medals
Sport: Archery
Kumkum Anil Mohod was one of India's standout performers in archery at the Asian Games 2026. She won a total of three medals, including two gold medals and one silver medal.
Her gold medals came in the women's individual recurve and women's team recurve events. In the individual recurve final, Kumkum won India's first-ever gold medal in the women's individual recurve event at the Asian Games. She also teamed up with Ankita Bhakat and Kirti to win gold in the women's team recurve event.
Her silver medal came alongside Dhiraj Bommadevara in the mixed team recurve event.

2. Neeru Dhanda - 3 Medals
Sport: Shooting
Neeru Dhanda was India's most successful individual shooter at the Asian Games 2026, winning three medals, including two gold medals and one silver medal.
She won gold in the women's individual trap event and then partnered with Kynan Chenai to win another gold in the mixed team trap event. Their performance in the mixed team event also produced a new Asian record.
Neeru's third medal came in the women's trap team event, where she joined Manisha Keer and Aashima Ahlawat to win silver. Her individual trap gold also ended India's 48-year wait for an individual gold in the event.

3. Thirumuru Ganesh Mani Ratnam - 3 Medals
Sport: Archery
Thirumuru Ganesh Mani Ratnam also finished the Asian Games 2026 with three medals, making him the third Indian athlete to achieve the feat.
Ganesh won gold as part of India's men's compound archery team, alongside Sahil Jadhav and Kushal Dalal. He also won gold in the compound mixed team event with his Indian teammate, while his third medal came in the men's individual compound archery event, where he won bronze.
