Himachal Pradesh Teacher Recruitment: 10,000 Hired In 3 Years, 4,000 More To Be Appointed

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said more than 10,000 teachers have been recruited in the past three years, with 4,000 more appointments planned in the next six months.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has announced that the state government will appoint 4,000 more teachers in the next six months. He said more than 10,000 teachers have already been recruited during the last three years.

Sukhu made the announcement while addressing a public gathering at Nogli in the Rampur Assembly constituency of Shimla district. He said strengthening education, healthcare and the rural economy remains a priority for the state government.

According to the Chief Minister, the planned recruitment is aimed at further strengthening the state's education system. He said the government is working to improve public services and create more opportunities for people across the state.

Sukhu also highlighted the expansion of CBSE-affiliated schools in Himachal Pradesh. More than 150 CBSE schools have been opened, with around 2,000 teachers already appointed in these institutions, he said.

The state government is also developing 300 schools affiliated with the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education as Schools of Excellence. The initiative is intended to provide students, particularly those in rural areas, access to better educational facilities closer to their homes.

Himachal Education Ranking Improves, Says CM

Sukhu said Himachal Pradesh was ranked 21st in quality education in 2021, during the previous BJP government, and claimed that the state has now moved to fifth position following the current government's reforms.

He said education and healthcare continue to be among the government's key priorities and that financial constraints would not be allowed to affect development in these sectors.

Himachal Pradesh Government Also Focuses On Healthcare

The Chief Minister also spoke about steps being taken in the healthcare sector. He said government medical colleges and the Atal Medical Super Specialty Institute, Chamiyana, are being equipped with modern technology and machinery.

According to Sukhu, the state government has also appointed 500 doctors to address shortages in the healthcare sector. He said older medical equipment is being replaced in phases.

The announcement of 4,000 additional teacher appointments comes as the state government continues to focus on expanding school infrastructure and strengthening access to education, particularly for students in rural areas.
