Which Six Teams Have Qualified for Men’s Cricket Asia Cup 2027?

The qualifications for next year’s ACC Men’s Asia Cup 2027 has been completed, with all 6 teams now decided. The tournament will be played in the ODI format, with Bangladesh set to host the continental event.

The Asia Cup brings together some of the biggest rivalries in cricket and promises  exciting contests. Nepal are the latest addition after securing their place for the second consecutive ODI edition by defeating UAE in the ACC Premier Cup final.

Which six teams have qualified for the Asia Cup 2027? 

1. India

India are undoubtedly the most successful team in Asia Cup history, with 9 titles to their name. They are also the defending champions in both the ODI and T20I formats. Their dominance in world cricket over the last few years has been impeccable and they will enter the tournament as favorites once again.

2. Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka are another highly successful team in Asia Cup history. Sri Lanka also made their debut in the same year as India, in 1984, in the inaugural edition. They went on to win the tournament 6 times. They have produced some of the most iconic performances in Asia Cup history, including Ajantha Mendis’ memorable spell against India in the final.

3. Pakistan

Pakistan also made their Asia Cup debut in 1984 alongside India and Sri Lanka. However, they have won the tournament only twice, with their most recent title coming in 2012. They struggle in international cricket is quite evident in recent times and also never won the Asia Cup in the T20 format. However, cricket is an unpredictable game and Pakistan will hope to change their fortunes in the 2027 edition.

4. Bangladesh

5. Afghanistan

6. Nepal

Nepal are the latest addition to the Asia Cup 2027 after securing their place in the tournament for the second consecutive ODI edition. They made their debut in 2023 but were knocked out in the group stage. However, Nepal have a young and promising side and will look to put up a strong fight and go further in the tournament.
