  • The special assessment marks scheme will pick the Best of three for internal evaluations.
  • Final pre-board marks will also be used for 60, 50, 30 mark theory papers.

CBSE 12th Result 2026: Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE, has officially opened the online portal for schools in West Asia to begin uploading internal assessment and theory marks for Class 12 students starting today, April 8, 2026. This move follows the board's decision to scrap several board examinations in the region due to ongoing regional conflicts, necessitating a transition to a special marking scheme to ensure students’ results are declared on time.

According to the official notification, school authorities have until April 17, 2026, starting from April 8, 2026, to complete the submission process. The board has emphasised that this is a strict deadline, and no requests for corrections or late entries will be entertained once the window closes.

Since many examinations could not be conducted, CBSE has devised a comprehensive alternative marking strategy. For subjects where exams were cancelled, schools must offer data based on internal evaluations conducted throughout the year. For theory papers with a maximum of 80 or 70 marks, schools are required to upload the scores from the quarterly, half-yearly, and final pre-board examinations.

The best of three marks from these evaluations will be used to calculate the final result. In cases where theory papers carry 60, 50, or 30 marks, the board will rely specifically on the performance in the final pre-board exams. If the student was absent for the final pre-board, the marks from the immediate preceding pre-board exam will be used.

The NTA has urged the schools to exercise utmost caution during data entry to avoid errors that could impact a student’s career. The final results for West Asian students will be released simultaneously with the results for students in India and other regions.
