Question 1: Congratulations on cracking JEE Main 2024! What are your overall and sectional scores in JEE Main 2024?

Answer. I have a total score of 299 with 100 in physics and maths and 99 in chemistry.

Question 2: When did you start your JEE Main 2024 Preparation? What is the ideal time to complete the JEE Main syllabus before the exam?

Answer. I began my preparation in the 9th class, but my primary focus shifted to JEE during the 11th and 12th classes. At VMC, we finished our syllabus by mid-September. Despite that, I concentrated more on JEE Advanced until the first half of December and then shifted my focus to studying and revising for JEE Mains.

Question 3: What was your overall preparation strategy for JEE Main 2024?

Answer. For mains, it is important to give mock tests constantly and analyse the mistakes you have made. I noted down the mistakes I made in a notebook and revised them before sleeping most nights.

Question 4: Was there any particular section/area that you were weak at? How did you overcome this challenge? What strategies did you adopt to master that section?

Answer. One area I felt challenged in was inorganic chemistry. Since our session had a lot of chapters removed from it, I focused on the 3-4 chapters that we had, by constantly reading the NCERT until I memorised them pretty well.

Question 5: Tell us something about yourself, your family, and your interests beyond academics.

Answer. Both my parents are techies. My mother works in Amazon and my father runs a start-up. Beyond academics, I like to play chess and read novels.

Question 6: Were you a part of any coaching institute? Is coaching necessary to ace your JEE Main Exam?

Answer. Yes, I was a part of Vidyamandir Classes (VMC). I feel like coaching is very important as a good teacher is crucial for getting a good result and coaching is an easy way to access good teachers. I am very grateful to my teachers for helping me and I owe a large part of my success to them.

Question 7: Is there any particular book or study material that helped you gain an edge over other Candidates?

Answer. I don’t believe there is a particular book or 3D material. All 3D material is fine. It’s just that you should completely learn the same material, just not mug it up, You should go deeper into the questions.

Question 8: How can an aspirant avoid negative marking?

Answer. To avoid negative marking aspirants should keep two things in mind. One is to avoid guessing- you should not do that at all and the other reason is silly mistakes. For that, you should read the question slowly and carefully. You should solve them patiently.

Question 9: What role did Mock Tests play in your success? How many mocks did you attempt before the exam?

Answer. I feel like mock tests play a huge role in JEE mains. After December 15th I used to give between 1-3 mock tests per day. I think I would have given a total of around 60-70 mock tests.

Question 10: Please share your exam-day strategy for the JEE Main 2024. What was your last-minute preparation? How did you plan your JEE Main test taking?

Answer. During the exam, I planned to do first chemistry, then physics, and then maths. Chemistry and physics both took around 15 min each while maths took 50 min. After that, I thoroughly rechecked my entire paper.

Before the exam day, I was mainly revising some of the easy-to-figure topics such as the organic chemistry and theory part of physics. I also revised the NCERT for further revision. I was getting nervous before the exam but my parents supported me a lot and told me to take the exam just like I gave all mock exams and stay calm.

Question 11: Do you plan to attempt the JEE Advanced Exam?

Answer. Yes, I’m taking the JEE advanced exam which is my main goal. JEE main is just a qualifier and now I’ll be fully focusing on the JEE Advanced exam.

Question 13: What is your message for JEE Main aspirants? One crucial piece of advice that you would like them to follow and wish you had known.

Answer. My message to aspirants is that be consistent and work hard. Even if there is no result right now, if you are consistent the results will surely come.
