West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE)
The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has been entrusted with the task of managing secondary-level school education in the state of West Bengal. It was established through the West Bengal Secondary Education Act, of 1950, though it started functioning only around the year 1951. The Board provides course curriculum to the affiliated schools, monitors the implementation of education policies, and conducts the yearly WB Madhyamik Examination.
West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE)
The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSEE) was established through the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education, Act 1975. It has been entrusted with the task of regulating the school education system at the 10+2 level. At present, the WBCHSE organizes the Class 12 Board Examination in the state for the evaluation of students at the Higher Secondary level.
