UPSC Success Story 2024: Rupal Rana (AIR 26), who comes from Barod in Baghpat district, Uttar Pradesh, secured All India Rank 26 on the recent result released by UPSC. Her story shows that any feat can be achieved in any condition with constant family support.
Rupal passed the renowned exam on her third attempt. Her father, an ASI in Delhi Police, played a pivotal role in achieving success. Ms. Rupal's mother, Anju Rana, played an important role in boosting her morale during tough times. Anju wanted Rupal to succeed, and her encouragement increased Rupal's desire. However, Rupal’s mother became ill when she was preparing for the UPSC main exam, which created a difficult situation for Rupal. However, she continued her preparations for the main exam while also caring for her ailing mother.
Rupal Rana: Success Rewarded with Dedication
Rupal's continuous efforts paid off when she cleared the UPSC main exam. This moment was also filled with sadness because her pillar of strength, Anju Rana, passed away of sickness barely two and a half months before Rupal's success. Despite the deep loss, Rupal's father, Jasvir Rana, stood by her side, completely supportive and reminded her that her achievement would be a tribute to her late mother.
As per Rupal’s sister, Rupal was encouraged by her father's words and she continued her efforts and nailed the UPSC interview, resulting in an outstanding 26th rank. Her family, including her father Jasvir Rana, brother Rishabh Rana, and sister. Rupal's younger sister, Sweety Rana, was feeling mixed joy and depression over her sister's accomplishment, missing their mother's presence on this important day. Rupal's brother, Rishabh Rana, shared the family's pleasure in her achievements and recognising the lessons acquired from her perseverance and determination.
Sanjay Arora, Delhi Police Commissioner, wrote to his X (formerly Twitter) handle, expressing his deepest congratulations to Rupal for recognising her effort and perseverance in accomplishing this extraordinary feat.

Rupal's own family reflected this approach, with Sweety preparing for the NEET and Rishabh completing his education, both enjoying equal support and encouragement from their parents.
Rupal's father, Jasvir Singh Rana, glowed with happiness at his daughter's accomplishment, highlighting her constant dedication and hard work. He acknowledged his late wife for her enormous dedication to Rupal's journey and expressed sorrow that she was not present during this happy moment of family.
