UPSC CDS Allowances & Perks for IMA/INA/OTA/AFA
Flying Allowance, Dearness Allowance, Kit Maintenance Allowance, High Altitude Allowance, Siachen Allowance, Uniform Allowance, Free Rations, Transport Allowance, Children Education Allowance, Medical Aid, Annual Leaves (60 days a year), Casual Leaves (20 days a year). The officers and their families are entitled to free medical aid, accommodation on concessional rent, group insurance scheme, group housing scheme, family assistance scheme, canteen facilities, etc.

Transport Allowance (TPTA) |

Other Places: Rs 3,600 +DA per month Officers in Pay Level 14 and above, who are entitled to use an official car, will have the option to avail official car facility or to draw the TPTA at the rate of Rs. 15,750+DA per month. Physically disabled service personnel will continue to be paid at a double rate, subject to a minimum of Rs. 2250 + DA per month |
Children Education Allowance (CEA) |
Rs. 2,250 per month per child for only the eldest two eldest surviving only. CEA is admissible from Nursery to 12th classes. CEA is applicable from kids' Nursery to 12th class |
NOTE:
(i) Qualification Grant has been abolished as a separate allowance. Eligible employees are to be governed by the newly proposed Higher Qualification Incentive (HQI). The Ministry of Defence (MoD) is yet to issue the order for HQI.
(ii) In the case of allowances specific to Defence Forces, the rates of these allowances would be enhanced by 25% automatically each time the Dearness Allowance payable on the revised pay band goes up by 50 per cent.
(iii) Leaves: Leaves at OTA will be admissible in accordance with the Leave Rules for the Service Vol. 1-Army as amended from time to time. For leave, officers will be governed by rules applicable to short Service Commission officers as given in Chapter IV of the Leave Rules for the Service Vol. I-Army. They will also be entitled to leave on passing out of the Officers Training Academy and before assumption of duties under the provision of Rule 69 ibid. SSC Women Officers will also be eligible for the following kinds of Leave:
(a) Maternity Leave: Woman officer of the Army – Rule 56 of Chapter-IV of Leave Rule for the Services Vol. I-Army, Fourth Edition.
(b) Child Care Leave: Woman Officers of the Army – Rule 56A of Chapter-IV of Leave Rules for the Services Vol. I-Army, Fourth Edition as amended vide GOI MoD letter No.B/33922/AG/PS-2(b)/3080/D(AG-II) dated 19 Nov 2018.
(c) Child Adoption Leave: Woman Officers of the Army – Rule 56B of Chapter-IV of Leave Rules for the Services Vol. I-Army, Fourth Edition.
(iv) Terminal Gratuity: SSCO recruited from the civil side are entitled to terminal gratuity @ 1/2 months emoluments for each completed six monthly periods of service.
(v) Leave and Leave Travel Concession at AFA: Annual Leave—60 days a year and Casual Leave—20 days a year
