GATE 2022 Exam Day InstructionsGATE 2022 Exam Day Instructions Released: Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur has released a detailed set of exam-day instructions for the upcoming PG entrance exam. The GATE 2022 exam day guidelines cover different aspects, including the list of documents required by candidates, exam-day do’s and don’ts related precautions to be followed by the candidates.

Students who are going to appear in the upcoming Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering 2022 should read all the instructions carefully and adhere to them. Moreover, the authorities have released certain instructions in view of COVID-19. Students can below check the GATE 2022 exam day instructions as released by IITKGP.

GATE 2022 Exam-Day Instructions for Candidates

With GATE 2022 Exam scheduled to be held in February 2022, the exam authority has released important do’s and don’ts for the candidates which they will need to follow and adhere to at the exam centre. Some of the most important ones among them are listed below:

Documents to be Carried to Exam Centre

GATE 2022 Entrance Exam will be held at respective exam centres that are allotted to the candidates as per the hall ticket. In order to be allowed inside the exam centre, candidates will need to produce their GATE Admit Card 2022, which will contain important details about exam and the paper. Candidates should make sure that their GATE 2022 Admit Card contains clear photograph and signature. Moreover, the IIT GOAPS 2022 hall ticket should be printed on a A4 size sheet using laser printer, so that all details mentioned on it are clearly visible to the invigilator.

In addition to this, candidates will also have to carry a Government issued ID card to the exam centre. The personal details about the exam candidate will be verified against the ID Card and if all the details are found to be correct, only then they would be allowed inside the exam hall. Therefore, candidates are advised to cross-check and verify all details including the spelling of their name against the Govt issued ID card.

Reporting Time

Candidates should note that they will be allowed to enter the exam centre and GATE 2022 exam hall only at the designated reporting time mentioned on the admit card. Therefore, they should reach the exam centre according to the same. Moreover, entry of any candidate inside the exam hall will be stopped after 30 minutes of the start of the GATE 2022 exam. Therefore, candidates are advised to make sure that they are not late to report to the designated exam centre.

Items Allowed inside Exam Hall

In addition to the admit card and government issued ID Cards, candidates are also allowed to take a few other items inside the exam hall. These include pen, pencil, water bottle, and pocket size sanitizer. Candidates should note that due to COVID-19 protocols, no sharing of items will be allowed at the exam centre therefore all candidates are advised to carry these items individually to the exam hall.

GATE 2022 COVID-19 Guidelines for Candidates

GATE 2022 exam is being held in offline mode at designated exam centres allotted to the candidates. And given the current situation of the COVID-19 pandemic and the rapid rise in the Coronavirus cases across the country, the exam authority plans to hold the exam in strict adherence to Govt issued COVID measures. In line with this, IIT KGP has issued certain COVID-19 related guidelines that all candidates will have to adhere to on GATE 2022 Exam Day. These are listed below:

Face Masks Mandatory

The first line of defence against COVID-19 is the face mask, therefore, all candidates appearing for GATE 2022 exam will have to mandatorily wear face marks while they are at the exam centre. The face marks being worn by candidates should be in proper position covering both, nose and mouth of the candidates, during the course of their stay at the centre.

Thermal and Health Checks

To identify any symptomatic candidates, the exam authority has made provisions for thermal checking at the entry point of the exam centres. Therefore, all candidates will have to undergo thermal checks and any other health check-ups notified by the exam authority before entering the exam hall.

No Entry for COVID-19 Positive Candidates

Any candidates who are found to be positive for COVID-19 on the day of the exam, will not be allowed entry inside the exam hall. Moreover, any candidate who was in quarantine during the last 14 days or was in close contact of any person who was found to be positive, will not be allowed to appear for exam.

Isolation Exam Hall for Symptomatic Candidates

Any candidates who are showcasing any symptoms of COVID-19 such as fever higher than 99.4 degree/ cough/ runny nose will have to appear for GATE 2022 exam in an isolation exam hall created for them.
