Haryana state government has decided to vaccinate children between the age of 15 to 18 by January 10, 2022. The vaccination programmes for the children are being conducted in the schools. Haryana Chief Ministers Office in a tweet mentioned that the state health department teams will be vaccinating the children between the age group of 15 to 18 in the schools. It was further mentioned that efforts are being made to achieve the target of vaccinating every child before January 10, 2022.
According to reports, over 40 lakh teenagers have received their first dose on day one of the vaccination drive - January 3, 2022. Health minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya in a tweet stated that over 40 lakh children between the age group of 15 to 18 have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine on Day 1 of the drive until 8 PM.
The Haryana Higher Education Department has announced that the Universities and Colleges will remain closed until January 12, 2022, for the students considering the increasing COVID cases. Staff members will attend college/ universities as usual and online classes will be conducted regularly.
In an official statement issued, the department has asked that the universities and colleges remain closed until January 12, while staff comes to college regularly and classes are conducted as per the timetable for the students. Principles of the educational institutions have been asked to make sure that the classes are being conducted regularly.
