CBSE LOC Registration 2027 to Begin Soon, Class 10, 12 Datesheet Likely After: How CBSE Decides the Schedule

Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE will soon begin the process for LOC or List of Candidates for Class 10, 12 Board Examination 2027. Alongside, it will also commence the registration process for the board examinations for Classes 9 and 11. Once the process begins, the board is then expected to release the much-awaited datesheet for CBSE 10th 12th Board Exams 2027. Let us try and understand the process followed by the board and when the activities are expected to begin, historical schedule and what we know.  

First off, CBSE LOC is essentially when the registered schools seek the number of students who would be appearing for the board examination. The process involves schools to finalise the total regular students and list subject wise numbers. This is then used to create the final schedule for the examination. The number of students appearing for a subject provides CBSE important information regarding the logistics of the examination, which is crucial for the board.  

What parents need to understand is that this is important. The board conducts examination for over 100 subjects in class 10 and 12 respectively. This makes the combination important. Schools that are made as centres have to be able to accommodate the number of students who will be appearing for a subject on that particular day. 

While CBSE does create provisions for larger subjects to have individual days, many smaller clusters of subjects are clubbed together with either class for logistic reason and smaller schedules. 

More so with CBSE’s new rule of two board examinations for class 10. The board is actively working on tightening the schedule (read date sheet) so as to get enough time to effectively conduct two examinations. This makes LOC almost necessary for the same. 

When will CBSE begin LOC Submission for Class 10, 12 Board Exams 2027? 

Historically, the LOC submission process begins in September and is completed by October. After the same, the board then releases the date sheet by the end of October or November of that year. Earlier the date sheets were released by the end of December. Now, however, the board actively tries to release the datesheet earlier.  

This year, however, due to delayed CBSE Class 10 second board examinations as well as the delayed revaluation schedule for Class 12, the LOC work remains suspended. The board has not yet been released. Sources have suggested that LOC process is likely to begin from September 29, which is tomorrow. Once it begins, the board is expected to give schools a window of three to four weeks to complete the same.  

By that logic, CBSE LOC submission may be completed by the end of October 2026. This, however, is subject to the actual schedule, which will be released on the official website cbse.gov.in. Refer to the past five year trends for the same. 

CBSE 10th 12th Datesheet 2027 Release Date? When to expect 

The board has not shared any tentative date as to when the same will be released. By the logic discussed earlier, it can be estimated that CBSE date sheet may be released by October last week or first/ second week of November.  

What is important to note is that the board already has a tentative number of students registered for the board examination (registration process completed last year). It only needs LOC for confirmation and may release a tentative datesheet for students before the actual LOC work has completed. Parents and students are hence advised to keep a check on the official website and on Jagran Josh for latest updates regarding the same.  

As for the registration process, it is likely to begin around the same time as the LOC submission process. No schedule has been released as yet. There is, however, no direct link with the schedule for registration and CBSE datesheet release date.
