SEBI Grade A Eligibility Criteria: Educational Qualification and Age Limit

Candidates must adhere to the specified eligibility criteria and age limit:

Educational Qualification: The educational qualifications vary according to the post applied for. Check the list below for stream wise educational qualifications

For General

Master’s Degree/ Post Graduate Diploma (minimum two years’ duration) in any discipline/ Bachelor’s Degree in Law/ Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from a recognised university or institute or Chartered Accountant/ Chartered Financial Analyst/ Company Secretary/ Cost Accountant.

For Legal

Mandatory- Educational Qualification – Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognised university or institute.

Desirable Experience – Two years of post qualification experience as an advocate (including as an associate in an advocate’s or solicitor’s office or law firm) after being enrolled under the Advocates Act, 1961 (25 of 1961).

For Information Technology

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in any branch or Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a postgraduate qualification (minimum two years’ duration) in computer science/computer application/ information technology from a recognised university or institute.

For Electrical Engineering 

Mandatory: - Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognised university or institute.

Desirable Experience – 

(i) Working knowledge of electronic systems like CCTV surveillance systems, Addressable Security Alarm and Fire Alarm systems, EPABX, UPS systems, etc. 

(ii) Experience in maintenance of lifts, pumps, air-conditioning plants, etc. 

(iii) experience administering construction projects in all its aspects and knowledge of PERT/CPM techniques.

For Research

Master’s Degree/ Post Graduate Diploma (minimum two years’ duration) in Economics/Commerce/ Business Administration/ Econometrics/ Quantitative Economics/ Financial Economics / Mathematical Economics/ Business Economics/ Agricultural Economics/ Industrial Economics/ Business Analytics

Age Limit: : A candidate must not have exceeded the age of 30 years as of March 31, 2024, i.e., the candidate must have been born on or after April 1, 1994. Relaxations in age limits will be given as per applicable rules.

SEBI Grade A Selection Procedure

The SEBI Grade A selection procedure will consist of three parts. Phase I will include two online test papers. Those who clear the first round will go on to the second phase, which will be conducted online and consist of two papers. Those who successfully complete Phase II will be invited for an interview.

SEBI Grade A Salary

The salary range for officers in Grade A will be Rs 44500 and Rs 89150. As per the latest notice, the gross salary in Mumbai will be around Rs 1,49,500/- per month without accommodation and Rs 1,11,000/- per month with accommodation. This will also include SEBI's contributions to the National Pension Scheme (NPS) and Grade Allowance, Special Allowance, Dearness Allowance, Family Allowance, Local Allowance, Learning Allowance, Special Grade Allowance, and so on.
