The Himachal Pradesh state government is all set to appoint a total of 4000 teachers in the upcoming six months as per the CM. The CM was interacting with the students at Padma Utkrisht GSSS (CBSE), Rampur. In this interaction, the CM has interacted with the students and addressed their issues and grievances related to public education and various other topics. As per some reports, the Himachal Pradesh state government has appointed approx.10,000 teachers in the last 3 years and appointing 4000 more teachers will be good looking from the perspective of student-teacher ratio and also it will be a good opportunity for the candidates vying for a teaching career in the state.
Appointment of 4000 Teachers in Next Six Months
While addressing a public gathering at Nogli, Rampur and interaction with the students, the CM has talked about topics such as education, environment, healthcare, drug menace, and rural economy. The CM has also addressed the Anti-Chitta rally. While speaking about the public education system, he said that there will be appointments made in the upcoming six months and the government is planning to appoint a total of 4000 teachers in government owned schools.
Significance of this Announcement
The appointment of approx. 4000 teachers is a great start as in the hilly terrains of the rural areas in the state, the student-teacher ratio is very less as compared to the mainstream cities of the state. Therefore, the candidates who wish to teach in the state owned schools can leverage this opportunity. This will also be beneficial for the students studying in rural schools where there is less teacher availability per student.
Around 150 CBSE Schools Opened
The CM also highlighted that around 150 CBSE-affiliated schools have been opened in the state with the appointment of approx. 2000 teachers in them. This is a part of the larger initiative at improving the quality of education and making the schools available in each part of the state so that it becomes reachable to students.
Schools Being Developed as Schools of Excellence
The government is also planning to develop at least 300 schools, affiliated to the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education as Schools of Excellence. This initiative will help build the government-owned schools at par with the CBSE & ICSE schools in terms of infrastructure and better educational facilities. This initiative also includes that the schools should reach each and every student in the state so that the education becomes accessible.
Himachal’s Education Ranking Has Improved
As per what the CM has told at the interaction with students, Himachal's education ranking has been improved and the state has come to 5th position in this year. Previously, in 2021, Himachal Pradesh ranked at 21st in quality education ranking.
